Een van de meest productiefste gezangschrijvers in de geschiedenis. Fanny Crosby werd kort na haar geboorte blind. Ondanks haar blindheid schreef zij meer dan 8000 gezangen. In de Verenigde Staten bevat merendeel van de liederenbundel haar werken. Ook in Nederland zijn liederen van haar vertaald en in onder andere in de Zangbundel van

Johannes de Heer

opgenomen. Meest bekend zijn onder andere Blessed assurance, Volle verzeek'ring;  Jesus calling you tenderly home, Jezus roept zondaars; To God be the glory, Geprezen zij God op Zijn troon.
